hi all
We randomized check digit('0' to '9') by our own way(using excel functions(char(48+int(rand()*10))) and
suffixed randomly generated check digit in manually generated account numbers of old customers in Data Migration Tool(DMT) for uploading old data to T24
at data migration time only.

After the migration new account numbers opened has been generated as defined in COMPANY,field ACCT.CHECKDIG.TYPE in normal way.

I am not talking about Alternate ID(Old Account Number),we kept the old account number as an alternate ID as it was in legacy system, (defined in ALT.ACCT.PARAMETER and ACCOUNT.PARAMETER).
.
Will there be any problem later?

Is this one of the right way to suffix the checkdigit to the account numbers generated manually in DMT for migrating accounts from old system To T24?
thank you.

Hi,

In the help text of Account application, you can find an example of the check digit logic used for account number generation.

If I am not mistaken, check digit validation is done only during input of a new account record. So once after account record is created, hope there won't be any problem.

As mentioned with the old topic the only problem is that the meaning of the check-digit is blasted and that there is no change for "offline-validation" of the account numbers.

E.g. in the UK most all banks publish their check-digit algorithm so that other bank can validate the accounts (what is more or less obsolete when using IBAN).
