Calling java program from Universe?!!!

Hi all,

We have seen how to call a java program from jBase using CALLJ function.

I want to call a java program from Universe.

Does anyone know how to call a java program from Universe.?!!!

Hi Siva,

Yours is interesting question, I searched most of the documents from IBM but could not find the relevant stuff, all the time they are talking about the ways of calling UniVerse routines from Java and not the other way (i.e. calling Java from UniVerse).

So I think since UniVerse is very older than Java, I mean Java is not in existence at the time UniVerse is written so there is no such case. Yet the thing that is bothering is why dint IBM include the option/feature in the latest version.

Anyhow lets put some more effort and try to find out the answer. May be I will try to post the issue to the IBM.

in the good old days we called RPG programs (similar to 'c') without a problem. It can be done just that i dont have the info. i will send out some emails to ex-colleages and see it i can get some info.
