The error happened very frequently:

Wed Oct 16 13:46:04 - F.VMBL.INT.CLR.CITAD.HIST - F_VMBL_IN000 - ** Error ** readLob(): Unable to read LOB descriptor
Oracle Error **: ORA-12592: TNS:bad packet

We are using T24 R8.

What is the root cause?

The root cause is you are using Oracle ;-) - sorry, just kidding!
