is it possible in T24, to make a one side entry at PL Category to nullify any loss ?
We have a situation, where system has generated a loss entry at CATEG.ENTRY PL.53510 with amount Rs. 200,000. Can we make a contra (one side entry) on same category i.e PL.53510 so that we can show a similar amount with gain to nullify this loss.

From R08 you can raise single sided Data Capture entries by editing the corresponding Fxxx.DC.BATCH.CONTROL to make it look balanced after inputting the first transaction and only after this authorise the DC.Line 003/004 amount debit/credit in local currency
Line 005/006 amount debit/credit in foreign currency
these pair have to be the same, FCY lines are only used when not booked in LCY.
1. Input DC and leave it INAU
2. Edit the DC.BATCH.CONTROL
3. Authorise the DC
Try on a copy first, getting the DC to be authorised has to be trained ;-)

thanks for your response.
Kindly also suggest how to check the impact on AMPL after applying the steps which you had suggested.?
Is there any alternative of RUNNING COB to check the impact on PL.

I see no alternative to running a COB.
For sure you will face a difference in PL and transaction journal, the single sided booking is foreseen to correct such differences (or to clear out when you have to amend CAL/CPL directly). Normally the helpdesk can advice who to proceed in such cases.
Better would be to reverse out the loss . . .
