YOU TRY TO LOGIN IN TWO BROWSERS WINDOWS USING TWO LOGINS?
In browser the session is maintained at a single IE repository. So no matter how many windows you open but browser will keep a session of one user only and if you try to login a new user in browser it clears the sesssion of the previously logged in user.
And you are right that in desktop version you can login simultaneously using two usernames because each desktop application instance has its own memory space for session management.
So you can do two logins by signing in one user in IE and the other in firefox
