desktop application with r8

hi all, i'm currently using r8 bowser. i was wondering if i can get desktop application to work with r8. it's really a comfort level thing since i've always worked with g10-g14 before.

can someone please help to available the last release of t24 desktop application.

Desktop code development has stopped with R06 hence there is no new version available.
Desktop will work on R8 though but will not support new modules like AA, etc.

Now the entire development is moving towards browser.So it is always advisable to practice with the browser instead of going back to backward comfort.

The usage of desktop for R08 is restricted by the license code this will be checked by S.SIGN.ON core routine. if you have source of S.SIGN.ON you can by pass that license check.

It depends if you are a client of Temenos or a Temenos employee, the S.SIGN.ON routines checks if the license code in the SYSTEM record in SPF contains TMNS and if so exists the routine without letting you log-in. For clients that should not be the case since the license code would be different and hence you are not required to modify the S.SIGN.ON routine

I agree with pnieles. I dont think it is wise for anybody to recommend source code changes. T24 world is moving ahead with browser and there are quite a lot of changes done on the core routines to satisfy browser output. So, start using Browser.

If a client is using Desktop and GLOBUS and moving ahead to latest T24 version then Desktop will be compatible for them but eventually most of them gets to browser.
