Old Console - "Application Missing" everywhere i go

First before all : Nice to meet you !

Recently i got the change to start learning T24 and currently i am tasked with building a demo environment that we CBS consultants later can use for familiarization with T24.

Yet i have R17 installers with me ( R17SP7 runtime, R17 demo db dump for oracle, and R17 tar binaries ), so this is the version i need to cook with. Although it is more than 3 years old, for familiarization it should be OK for now. I found the lots of docs in the extracted runtime & also have premium access to TLC and University and started watching the CBS core install training.

Being experienced with Oracle DB the RBDMS setup + dump restore was just a walk in the park
Based on the manuals , setting up the directories for T24, TAFJ ...etc. was a bit harder but still manageable
Configuration of property files are kinda' self-explanatory , especially after watching the training.


- So my instance is somewhat up, trun EX is bringing up the old console
- login is successful ( yeah , "time travel" trick i also use to overcome the license issue ).

But then everywhere i go i get "Application Missing" if choosing a submenu of a particular application. For example i want to check the available current account products in AA, once i go deeper in the submenus, i get this.


Logs tell me nothing useful yet, however i havent changed the default properties in TAFJTrace.prop, maybe that's why..


Would anyone of you be so kind as to enlighten me whether i just forgot to copy some libraries or change stgh in one if the property files or similar ? Because if TAFJ is giving me such errors, i would rather not continue with deploying the webserver part and browser interface. With a broken core, front end is also rendered to be nearly useless.

Thanks for your help in advance ! Should i need to give you some directory stucture, or property files, just let me know!

FYI : the users i use is AUTHOR and GTSUSER since these seem to be superusers having access to everything.

TDiag also tells my setup is OK....

I afraid AA thingies are not supported in Classic mode. COS definitely isn't.

try not to go to a menu but type into "awaiting application" prompt something like:

Hi VK

That one comes nicely and displays the basic system/instance parameters without any issue..

So maybe putting the browser web in front of my TAFJ instance will be the key to do the functional test drive ?

I afraid yes...

In the meantime i started being more familiar with the classic app through learning the hotkeys for navigation, switching between pages, etc..Honestly my former AS400 experience helped me a lot btw...

Maintenance screens are usually available here.... but till i see that many programs are missing.... for example the one for account maintenance whilst CA.OPEN and SB.OPEN are there to open new ones..

But never mind, this terminal app is mainly for back end param/conf/maintenance thingies.... not -really - for exposing to teller clerks for example.... so Browser GUI setup is in progress now.
