Authorising DATA.CAPTURE

Hi All,

We recently upgraded Bank of Zambia's GLOBUS system from G10.2.04 to T24.RO5.005... now we are facing a problem in Authorising the DATA.CAPTURE Batches.

We have two problems in it..

1) At times when the authoriser tries to Authorise the Batch of DATA.CAPTURE, the user is getting a message that XXXXXX have Batch in use. But we confirmed that no XXXXXX user has the Batch in use.

2) The other one is, if the DATA.CAPTURE has a total of say for example 20 records in a Batch, and the authoriser authorise 15 records and gets a problem in 16th one. The user comes out of the authorising window.

Then if they list the Exception list it is showing all the 20 records. What i mean is that it is also displaying the Batches those are authorised.

NOTE: We have set the field DC.BALANCED as 'YES' in the ACCOUNT.PARAMETER application.

Please revert me if my details are lacking clarity.

This could be a core issue in R5. I think you need to check with temenos. If this issue is happening now and it was not earlier in the R5 then it could be some patch problem.

We did log this issue to temenos.. Moreover we are in T24.R05.005, and this was not a problem in G10.2.04 itself, will it be a problem of PATCHES.

I agree that this issue is not persists in G10.

This problem could be R5 issue or it may be a patch issue.

If this issue exists from the begining of R5, then this is R5 issue.
If this issue exists just a few days ago (after R5), then this could be a patch issue.

Hi All,

The problem of Authorising the DC batches continuously was solved. The problem before was due to the field DC.BALANCED set in ACCOUNT.PARAMETER. If we leave this field blank then there is no problem for Authorising DC seperately.

But now the DC batches gets authorised even if it is not Balanced. And this is the reason we set that field in ACCOUNT.PARAMETER. Anyhow the users are very much concern about Authorising and not about Balancing the Batches.

Hi All,

if batch in use message is came you can do one thing, if there is user name sign out that user, if there is terminal no go to jshee and use logout -<terminal no>. Make sure that that user is in active or no.

After doing this you can reuse this batch.


If user does not have rights to authorise that much amount and batch.balanced is yes then system leave in INAU mode. Please check the user rights and try again.

It seems number 16record,i think it PL category entry. while you are authorising u have to full view it ,then only you can authorise it.

Can u please tell me how did u upgraded from G10 TO T24R5 .

Is there any steps involved ? On which platform (unix/windows) .How much time it took .

And also for the above problem you need to check in the locking file whether anything is hanging over there (previous batches) while autorising DATA CAPTURE .If it exists then try to delete from the back end .

Thanks for ur concern. The problem was solved and the Bank went LIVE two months ago.

And the upgrade took two full days to complete.
