when RE.CONSOL.SPEC.ENTRY gets updated

hi,

please someone help me . Whether RE.CONSOL.SPEC.ENTRY is updated while putting a FT transaction for nostro accounts? else when this gets updated ?.
When the interest calculation was done in this template(RE.CONSOL.SPEC.ENTRY) ? is it at the time of COB ?

Generally RE.CONSOL.SPEC.ENTRY will be updated during COB.After R8 release T24 will update RE.CONSOL.SPEC.ENT.TODAY file online which in turn updates SPEC entry during COB.

For any transaction, T24 will not update SPEC entry online. It will calcualte if any interest exists and update CONSOL.ENT.TODAY/RE.CONSOL.SPEC.ENT.TODAY online. And then updates SPEC during COB.

I have one more problem.In the Spec entry the value date field is not updated. can you kindly say the reason for not updation of value date. :(

For accrual and revaluation entries, system will not update VALUE.DATE as all these entries are generated temporarily and the actual entry will reverse it on the capitalisation of interest/Realise PL posting.

job EOD.CONSOL.UPDATE will update the SPEC entries

I would disagree with a first part of the previous post.

On my opinion, accruals & revals in RE.CONSOL.SPEC.ENTRY don't have valued date simply because they don't need it as it ALWAYS same as a booking date.

Also they are not temporarily, they are NORMAL balance sheet entries that are updating accruals in your balance sheet.

What happens on capitalisation date is that system just closing current accruals by posting opposite entry with total amount for the closing interest period for each deal. If it is not final maturity then process re-starts again for the next interest period.

P/L part is different. It doesn't get reversed . It's accumulating accruals from the very first day of the deal and keeps it until Financial Year End when all P/L gets wipe out.
