The core difference between EOD and COB is while EOD is running the users cannot input the transactions where as in COB it is possible .



The COB will not allow the input and processing of records in all application other than one supported by the NON STOP SERVICE.



And also with the help product GLOBAL PROCESING , it is possible to run COB at different time for group of companies or individual company



And there are many more differnces like tsa.service and tsa.agent which replaces the batch control.

there r two types of error in COB one unresolved error and the other critical error..



errors which are less sever are unresolved errors and it wont stop the COB but it will register the error in EB.EOD.ERROR for record of current batch run and current company... the details of this error could be found in EB.EOD.ERROR.DETAIL. You should fix this error before running the next day COB.



there are some critical job which will carsh and stop the COB.in this case you have to contact the temenos help desk who will provide you the solution..and these critical jobs will have .CRITICAL in the ADDTIONAL INFO field of PGM.FILE.

you couldnot predict the possiblity of errors.. it will occur due to various reasons like badly resized file or missing some files like that...
