Hi,
Is this a GLOBUS application?
I can't able to find any such type of application in T24 release.
Could you give more info on your problem?

POSITION.TABLE is used for holding the position for each currency. This file is used in few enquiries in globus for treasury to monitor the position. you cannot view this file inside globus. This file is updated only when the MAINTAIN.POS.TABLE field is set to YES in REVALUATION.PARAMETER application. In G14 there was locking issue as the updation routine was multi threaded. The locking issue cannot be sorted, due to this many banks wants to aviod this file. See the POSITION MANAGEMENT user guide for more reference.

Hi Karthik,
Tell me one thing. What is a POSITION?
Why we need to monitor this?

This is a vast topic in GLOBUS.
Here are the some that hits my head.
POSITION is determined by the foreigh currency that the bank holds. Daily at the time of EOD the POSITION is revaluated and this determines the bank status. There is no need of position management, if the bank deals only the local currency.
Example
Let bank ABC having USD as local currency bought 1000EUR today at the rate X. Tomorrow if the bank sells his 1000EUR, what could be status? If tomorrow market is >X then its profit else loss. This is POSITION and this determines the status of the bank.
Correct me if I am wrong.

Is there any difference between POSITION.TABLE and POSITION?
As for my understanding, POSITION holds the details when cross currencies are involved in the transaction...
Can any one explain how POSITION.TABLE differs from POSITION..
Regards,
Shenba
