Which tools for jbase developing? was created by goldenchance
Hi All,
I'm quite new in T24 and Jbase as well. Therefore I find it's very touch to remember all the functions (routine, subroutines) during jbase developing time. Could you please share tools or experiences on this case?
I used to be a web developer and worked with .NET,Java, or PHP which have good IDE supporting for development such Visual Studio, Eclipse.... I wonder whether I can find some similar IDE for JBase?
Cheers,

There is no standard rich IDE available till now for T24/jBASE.
There is an IDE in T24 toolbox which behaves like Visual Basic Editor.
I never tried that.

Thank for your answer, GvA. I wonder if there are any way to be good at JBase without learning by heart all its syntax, attributes, sub routines. Currently, every when I forget them, I open the guide document and....search the related information. It's quite painful for me since I sometimes take for few hours for just a simple syntax.

Once you get used to it, will be no problem. You will probably use copy/paste often to reuse existing code. It is very important to know the T24 API calls, not just jBase commands. Explore the T24 API as much as you can.

Personally I used notepad++.
It has plug-ins for ftp or sftp connection.
Language syntax highlighting (I attached you the file)
and so on
notepad-plus-plus.org/
