GLOBUS Desktop installation in Vista was created by ksrcse
Hi All,

I am unable install GLOBUS Desktop in windows vista home premium. when I am installing GLOBUS Desktop 1.4 version or GLOBUS Desktop 1.3 version, at that time an error is getting as,

'Error 1904. Module C:Windowssystem32SysTray.ocx failed to register. HRESULT -2147024770. Contact your support personnel.'

Please tell me the procedure for it.

Thanks & Regards,
Sathish

Uninstall the Desktop then install the VB5 run time library. What I have used when I search the error in google is: msvbvm50.exe.

Make sure to restart your laptop/pc after uninstalling the desktop and after installing the VB5 run time library. After that, you should be able to install Desktop.

Try turning off Vista User Account Control and then try again. If you received the same error, uninstall it but this time install with User Account Control turned off.

I had the same problem but followed the solution and Desktop get installed now correctly. But I'm facing another kind of a problem. If I dont work in Desktop for some time (10-15 minutes) it hangs and desktop communication error message comes up. I dont know why it happens. The same trouble is when working in Reflection.
Has anybody faced the same and what's the solution?

Behzod

Replied by Aivis on topic ask distribution for vista version
1) you have to ask Vista specific installation package from distribution (they start from v1.5.001);
2) remove previous Desktop versions;
2) remove v1.4 or older Desktop keys from registry;
3) install Vista version;
2) upgrade to v1.5.032 (the most stable from v1.5.x);

Best regards,

Aivis
