Hi jiban,

to be honest I can't really follow you.

A check-digit on an accountnumber for me has the sense of being able to verify the correctness of a number from a technical point of view without matching to the accounts themselves. In T24 you can define the method/type for the checkdigit calculation in COMPANY, field ACCT.CHECKDIG.TYPE.

We used to keep the old account number as an alternate ID (defined in ALT.ACCT.PARAMETER and ACCOUNT.PARAMETER). This way it can be used for input as well.

I can see no advantage of randomly assigning a checkdigit, that's the opposite of it's meaning.

Kind regards,
jpb
