Concept of Console Key

Please explain me
What is an console Key ?
How its involved in an transaction ?
how is involved in generating reports ?
What is the Basic Theory behind the console key ?

1) Consol key is a dynamic key. It is a combination of keys which are parameterised from CONSOLIDATE.COND . In this file two keys are maintained. ASSET&LIAB and PROFIT&LOSS. This will determince the dynamic key.

2) The Bank should know the asset and liability. To determine this for each transaction the CAL & CPL are updated based on the transactions. If this file is not updated then the bank will not know the status.

3) The CRF & CRB reports are using these keys to generate the reports. The bank balance sheet is generated from these keys.

4) The basic theory is
'There are no actual general ledger accounts in T24. To allow for accurate and detailed accounting analysis, profit and loss balances are not held in an account, instead consolidated balances and movements are kept at the lowest reporting level by use of specific category codes, which are used by all applications to record profit and loss entries. The usage of these ?virtual? general ledger accounts is explained in the Reporting chapter of the user guide. '

The console key is a combination of various factor. The attributes for the console key is defined in a file CONSOLIDATE.COND.

This console key structure is defined when the GLOBUS system is installed in the bank. Once it has been installed, this cannot be changed.

Could anyone give me a sample key and explain the different attributes.

the CONSOL.KEY for the Asset Liabilities will be in the form of:
(APPLIC.ID).(CURRENCY.MARKET).(POSITION.TYPE).(CURRENCY).(PRODUCT).(SECTOR).(DEPARTMENT).(RESIDENCE)
For consolidate key (ASSET&LIAB) the 4 parameters r mandatory n 12 parameters r optional....
e.g.: CONSOL.KEY........ AC.1.TR.EUR.1000.1100.55.ES

For consolidate key (PRFT&LOSS) the 1 mandatory n 12 parameters r optional....
