enquiry SINGLE.MULTI field was created by tiger93

what is the significance of SINGLE.MULTI field in enquiry. If using nofile enquiry can we use this to display multivalue field.

eg. f1:'*':f2:'*':ff1:VM:ff2:VM:ff3

field1 F *,1 S

field2 F *,2 S

field3 F *,3 M

This is not working.

Put some light on these concepts.

The attached example is taken from AM.CRI.PREVIEW, a NOFILE enquiry based on NOFILE.AM.CRI.PREVIEW.
The COLUMN and LENGTH.MASK seems not given in your example.
