Systems audit in T24

is anyone aware of suitable susytems audit programs for T24 based installation ?

Well please be more elaborate. T24 has it own audit fields that may be used as single or multivalue. moreover there is the PROTOCOL application that may be used. USER application should be setup to enable logging in the PROTOCOL application

We do have PROTOCOL application enabled and it gets purgded at every COB. So what we plan is to get it and store it in another database to be quried by ACL. (I don't find it explanatory eventhough).
Other than PROTOCOL, EB.EOD.ERROR has errors pertaining to COB process. What I intend to knwo is that are there any other application related logs that provide details about file uploads (ex: clearance reports) , user activity logs and change related files (ex-HISTORY files) in the application.
For a systems auditor what utilities exist other than this is my prime quest.

Check this batch process in COB which generates report based on PROTOCOL and other files. May be useful for your requirement.

By default PROTOCOL will log exceptions that occur on the t24 system however to enable detailed logging please open the USER application and set the following for any user TO Y:


25 SIGN.ON.OFF.LOG... Y
26 SECURITY.MGMT.L... Y
27 APPLICATION.LOG... Y
28 FUNCTION.ID.LOG... Y

Setting the above to Y will start logging nearly everything a user does in the PROTOCOL application.

So this application will be filling in very short times so you should enable logging with care

Acctually i get a "APPLICATION MISSING" error with SYSTEM.REPORTS. I think it is not coming with the core and it shluld be added as a version.


The PROTOCOL logs certain events. But can it be used to develop a sequence of system changes for a work flow that has been followed by a user.
APPLICATION.LOG- Only the application accessed byt he user. the events performed in an application are not in the PEROTOCOL file.
How can we regenerate a sequnce of events in the system that has been generated due to user activity. It can be a file upload (FT.IN.TAPE),COB Process trigger, Date change andn even editing a nonon -input field.

How do I track activities done in Jbase by the administrator. Is there a log I can check?

there is external solution that track activity done in Jbase.

You can have a look at www.netguardians.ch they provide a proxy that catch all event done in jabse.
