J-DESCRIPTORS was created by ghouleh
how can i link a local ref field in an application and make a J-DESCRIPTOR for that local ref field
in SS
and then use the J-desc in a version

From my knowledge it's not possilble to use J-descriptors in a VERSION.
You may use a work-around by creating a routine to achieve the same as the J-descriptor, the field is then defined as I-descriptor and can be used in VERSION.

Best would be when you get yourself "This is how Globus works" (written by VK) - there is a chapter about I-descriptors that will help you.
