GENEVA, Switzerland, 6 November 2009 - Temenos (SIX: TEMN), the global provider of integrated core banking systems, is pleased to announce that it has won for the third year running the Best Core Banking Product category in Banking Technology magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards for its packaged core banking software Temenos T24 (T24).
The European Banking Technology Awards reflect excellence across a range of IT activities in banking and financial services, and highlight the growing trend among financial institutions for selecting packaged software solutions from independent technology providers rather than costly in-house developments. A total of 850 votes were cast for The Readers’ Choice Awards and Temenos was recognised as the best vendor of core banking systems in the market.
At the awards gala dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in London, where over 500 guests from leading financial institutions and technology suppliers were present, David Bannister, editor of Banking Technology commented: “Temenos has won this award ever since we launched the Readers Choice category. We congratulate Temenos on this impressive achievement and wish them best of luck for 2010.”
Andreas Andreades, CEO of Temenos, said: “We are delighted to have won this prestigious award for the third year running in celebration of our consistent leadership in this market. By investing around 20% of our revenues in research and development, significantly more than our peers, we are able to consistently provide our clients with technologically-advanced, innovative and flexible software that empowers them to grow their business whilst reducing costs and controlling risk. In 2009, through product innovation, a cornerstone of our success, we are offering our clients solutions in the areas of Business Intelligence and Front office through our ARC and Insight products. As a truly packaged product, T24’s open architecture enables us to work with all leading technology vendors, giving banks the platform and database freedom of choice they require whilst allowing us to maintain the same standard code and ease of upgradability that we offer to all our clients, allowing them to take advantage of our product investment year after year”.
