START.TSM process not completing was created by calluml
Apologies in advance if I'm asking a very simple question here, but I'm new to the T24 platform.

I'm attempting to deploy an update (EP - European Payments) to one of our T24 installations (R14 - Model Bank), following the release guide for the specific update, along with the online Update documentation.

All steps appear to go well until the START.TSM -DEBUG stage. At which I receive the following output:

jsh callumlindsay ~ -->START.TSM -DEBUG
START.TSM -DEBUG
tSA 1 -DEBUG
<como>
<agent>1</agent>
<processid>21244</processid>
<portno>90</portno>
Agent 1 started 11 NOV 14 16-21-50
Agent's Process id 21244
<servername>vsimhp09</servername>
Running on server vsimhp09 PortNumber 90
<service name = TSM>
tSM -DEBUG
Updates installation in progress - TSM to launch only T24.UPDATES service

Service Profile BNK/T24.UPDATES T24 Updates service (1)
TSM TSM Record for running upgrade as service (1)

Manually launch tSA 5 BNK/T24.UPDATES
Updates installation in progress - TSM to launch only T24.UPDATES service
Manually launch tSA 5 BNK/T24.UPDATES
Updates installation in progress - TSM to launch only T24.UPDATES service
Manually launch tSA 5 BNK/T24.UPDATES
Updates installation in progress - TSM to launch only T24.UPDATES service
Manually launch tSA 5 BNK/T24.UPDATES
Updates installation in progress - TSM to launch only T24.UPDATES service
Manually launch tSA 5 BNK/T24.UPDATES
Updates installation in progress - TSM to launch only T24.UPDATES service
Manually launch tSA 5 BNK/T24.UPDATES

The last two lines repeat every minute or so, and do not end.

I'm not clear what is meant by the line "Manually launch tSA 5 BNK/T24.UPDATES", is this a step I am supposed to take?

Also, the online documentation refers to Launching the Agent after the START.TSM step. How do I do this?

Thanks in advance for any help,
Callum

Open another session and you need to start the T24 updates process by manually starting one of the agent number mentioned.

Eg. jsh callumlindsay ~ -->tSA 5 -DEBUG

Have a great day !

kripesh, thank you for the help, that solved that problem.

Unfortunately, the poor quality of the information provided in the installation guide for the SEPA Update means I'm just about to give up on the install. I'm not sure how anyone is supposed to follow these guides!

Thanks anyway,
Callum

Actually this has nothing to do with SEPA. It is lack of understanding of how TSA Services works in T24. This knowledge is usually given in the area related to COB and Services if you are aware of it.

Usually T24 services are used to start many services in T24 which is specific to a particular task. Printing , Swifts, COB , Updates , Archival etc etc have their own set of Services and tp Start and Stop Services it the same process everywhere.

SEPA is one area where a T24 Service is put into use :-).

Why don't you correct the guide, so that people looking into it in the future may find it easy. Does that sound Simple !!!

You can set an example to others...

Cheers,
Kripesh
