Hi All,

Can anybody post a procedure for migrating Unix Universe database to Windows Universe. I have to migrate G13 globus database from Unix Universe to latest Windows Universe. using format.conv and setting remote.cmd instead of .profile of unix etc etc..

Thanks in advance

when I did it long time ago I did the following:

1. some file types are not supported (e.g. 25 or 30), so should be converted on unix before transferring to windows. I think there is a utility GLOBUS.TYPE19.CHECK to give you the list of files.

Once you have this list convert them to type 19 e.g. RESIZE filename 19

The following files must not be converted: APP.PROGS, APP.PROGS.O, GLOBAL.CATDIR, UNIVERSE.INCLUDE, UV.SAVEDLISTS, UV_ASSOC, UV_COLUMNS, UV_SCHEMA, UV_TABLES, UV_USERS and UV_VIEWS.

2. copy the database from unix to windows

3. run format.conv to format the files and objects to NT format

4. create the account for your globus database

5. probably you may need to run UPDATE.ACCOUNT

6. recompole I and J descriptors by RECOMP.DESCRP
