Temenos has announced that Jean-Paul Mergeai has been appointed to lead its Middle East team. His appointment is part of Temenos’ drive to further enhance its strong presence in the region.

Mr Mergeai brings over 25 years’ experience of providing information technology solutions to banks and financial institutions in Europe, the Middle-East and America. Prior to this new position, he led Temenos’ North American sales operations.

Temenos has over 66 banking customers in the Middle East, with 37 of these using T24 for Islamic banking. Our Middle Eastern customers include Qatar-based al Khaliji Bank, which runs on T24, Treasury Trader and Insight Financial Intelligence, and Union National Bank, one of the UAE’s largest retail banks, which also runs on T24.Our experience in the region affords us a deep understanding of the specialist requirements of banks in the Middle East– whether that be replacing redundant legacy systems, adhering to Shari’ah law compliance, or optimising customer service through the adoption of different banking channels.
